Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP or NNR)
is a specialized form of CPR or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. It focuses on the skills needed to respond to the unique needs of a compromised newborn during the period immediately after birth. While covering neonatal resuscitation content this class also includes information for applying the principles to resuscitation outside of a hospital. This class is especially useful for midwives, midwifery students, EMTs and others wanting a fresh perspective on newborn resuscitation. The amazing transitions the baby experiences in the process are covered while learning to support the natural physiology of birth.
NRP is taught in accordance with the requirements set out by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as required for the certifications and licensure of most healthcare professionals whose work involves newborns.
There are two NRP Class options: NRP Essentials and NRP Advanced - Breath of Life Classes now offers both
For more information on how to decide which NRP class to take go to the FAQ page and scroll down to question # 9.
